This is a port of Xdu version 2.1 for DESQview/X.
Xdu is a tool for graphically displaying the sizes of the directories on
your harddisk. The directory structure is displayed, and each directory
occupies a piece of the screen directly proportional to the amount of
disk-space used by the directory and its sub-directories.
Xdu is built as an add-on to the standard UNIX-command 'du' (Disk Usage).
So in order to use Xdu, You will need a du program. If you don't have one,
use the GNU version of du that comes with this archive. It isn't fast,
but it will get the job done.
Documentation in the form of man-pages are in the .man files. The .txt
files are a text-version of the man-pages.
To install, you may want to copy the file xdu.ad to your \dvx\app-defa
directory as xdu.res. This file defines the application defaults for Xdu.
In it, you can configure colors, sizes of the Xdu window etc.
Xdu was compiled with the DJGPP compiler ver. 1.10, and the Quarterdeck
Libraries ver. 1.01. You will need the 'go32' DOS extender to run Xdu -
it is available from omnigate.clarkson.edu in ~ftp/pub/djgpp as part of
djdev*.zip.
The GNU du program is part of the file-utilities, available from the GNU
distribution sites or FSF (Free Software Foundation).
Xdu is public domain - GNU du is distributed under the GNU license, as
described in the file 'COPYING'.
